Miracle Pore Cleansing Powder?

Last weekend I went and bought some new foundation for myself (which by the way I went for the Tarte brand (in light-medium neutral), new to this brand for foundation as I have been using CoverFX for the longest, I'll update you guys on that later).

While I was at Serphora I confided in one of the saleswomen in the skincare section about my bumpy skin concerns.

She recommended an exfoliator by Tatcha called "Indigo Soothing Rice Enzyme". This so-called "miracle powder" however, comes with a darn hefty price. It is sold for 65$ for 2.1 ounces but since you only need a tiny bit, it is suppose to last 6-8 months according to the saleswomen. The Soothing Rice Enzyme is said to lift debris from the skin, leaving your skin soft and your pores clean.

Although I definitely take her word for it, I do not have that type of money to make it rain on them... you know what... like Lil Wayne over here:

Anyway, so I went for the cheap op. (more like free op.) and asked for a sample since I want to try the stuff out anyway. The sample is small as you can see. She told me to use the powder on my face three times a week at night, every other day (Monday, Wednesday, Friday and repeat). Additionally she said to lightly rub it into your skin in circle-like motions, for 2-3 minutes, specifically focusing on problem areas (in my case it's my T-zone).

She said it should last three days, however I have a tiny face and I don't need a lot of product so it is lasting me slightly longer so far. It's been 3 days of use as of today and I still have a good amount left.

Trying It Out

How did it go you ask? It was pretty well and I could not exactly see the results but definitely I felt immediate results.

At first I was kind of confused. The powder, was literal powder. If you need a visual think baby powder mixed with flour. However, executed pretty well.

I always had this issue with rough feeling skin around my nose and chin area, mostly due to a lot of gunk getting into my ginormous pores. After gently rubbing in the product for 2-3 minutes and rinsing off-- my skin felt way smoother. I was so happy, I danced! I have had this issue ever since that time when I hit puberty harder than Kylie... Oh wait, that was plastic surgery and other body altercations.

Anyhow, visibly there is not that much of a difference, my pores are still enormous (sad face), but my skin feels like a babies bum.

That's a good enough excuse to buy this stuff, so what did I do?

I searched Sephora's page for it and I came across the most amazing thing!

So, this kit is selling the Pure One Step Camellia Cleansing Oil along with the Polished Classic Rice Enzyme Powder. The Polished Classic Rice Enzyme Powder is not the same as the Indigo Soothing Powder, however it serves a similar purpose:

"A water-activated exfoliant of nourishing Japanese rice bran that transforms to a creamy foam for smooth, polished skin." ~Description on Sephora's Website"

This kit is $27.00, and while the items in it are not full sized, I'll be able to sample two of Tatcha's products for an extended amount of time--without having to pay $65.00 just yet.

Yup, this is the mentality of a broke-a** college student!

I will continue to blog about my Skin-Care journey under the Skin-Care Category!

Feel free to ask any questions if you're interested!

Also, if you're ballin' like Lil Wayne, unlike me-- check out the Tatcha Best Seller's Set! It includes the Pure One Step Camellia Cleansing Oil, Polished Classic Rice Enzyme Powder, The Water Cream and Luminous Dewy Skin Mist.

However, I find ways to get around the system and found The Water Cream in the free sample section! So I pretty much got almost everything in the Best Seller Set, except the Skin Mist for $27.00!

I also went ahead and purchased the Bobbi Brown Smokey Eye Mascara, as I got a sample of that in my Play! by Sephora Box a while back but never bought the full sized version.

When I receive my order, which I should soon considering I am a "Sephora Flash Subscriber", then I will unbox everything with you and update you on my journey to skin perfection.

(If you want to learn more about being a Sephora Flash Subscriber, and what it is all about-- you can click the link above. Or, you can wait until I make a blog post, in which I will share my experience being a subscriber.)

Alrighty now!
